Bible Talk with Deb: The Road to the Cross: Series 1 of 5. Jesus's Willing Sacrifice
Sister Deb Osborne begins a new series called "The Road to the Cross," exploring Jesus's journey toward crucifixion and resurrection. She examines the Garden of Gethsemane arrest narrative from John 18, revealing how Jesus maintained complete control throughout the entire ordeal despite appearing to surrender.
• Jesus knew exactly what would happen to Him and stepped forward willingly when soldiers came
• When Jesus said "I am He," the crowd of soldiers fell backward to the ground, demonstrating His power
• The garden was a place of fellowship and peaceful memories, making Judas's betrayal there even more poignant
• Peter tried to defend Jesus with a sword but was rebuked - Jesus was following God's plan
• All disciples failed Jesus - not just Judas's betrayal but also Peter's denial and everyone's flight
• Jesus orchestrated His own arrest at the divine appointed time, not when authorities wanted
• Jesus chose to save us rather than save Himself - the ultimate expression of sacrificial love
Join us next week as we continue "The Road to the Cross" series by exploring Jesus's trials.
I would like to welcome everyone to the show enjoy and God bless everyone.
