Speaker 1:

Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. Thank you, jesus, for letting us be back in the studio today to spread your word. Good morning everybody, good afternoon, however it may be. So I'm going to thank you for being here, everybody, and I just want to say what a beautiful day it is outside and a beautiful day in the Lord. I just want to say what a beautiful day it is outside and a beautiful day in the Lord. So I want to start by saying people, jesus is coming back. One day Could be today, could be tomorrow, could be next week, next month or next year, we don't know when. But people, you better believe he is coming back and I just hope you let that sink in.

Speaker 1:

But anyway, my reading for today is in John 14. John 14, chapter 14, has been called the comfort chapter because the whole chapter is the promises of Jesus Christ and how he's the one, the only one, who gives us comfort. Now, that comfort is not only in knowing that he's coming back, but comfort for the present, right here, the here and the now, and the things to come, of course, the things to come before his return. So my reading this morning is John 14, 1, 2, and 3. And this is my favorite Bible verses and I'm going to read these. I'm going to start by reading these John 14, chapter 14, verses 1, 2, and 3. And the Bible says Let not your heart be troubled. You believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions. If it were not so, I would have told you I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you unto myself. That, where I am there, you may be also.

Speaker 1:

So see, this reading right here is taking place, of course, in the upper room, where, you know, jesus and his disciples are gathered and they're getting ready to eat the Passover meal. And this is the night before Jesus' death on the cross. Judas has already went to go carry out his act of betrayal and Jesus is talking to his disciples and he's preparing them for his departure. And they're hurting, they're confused, their hearts are breaking, you know, and I can imagine they're probably worried about anxiety, probably worried about the future, because Jesus had just told them in the chapter before the previous chapter that he was going to go away and he was going to go to a place that they couldn't come right now, but they would be able to come later. So Jesus anticipates their pain and their anxiety and he sees that their hearts are breaking, so he gives them comfort.

Speaker 1:

And the ironic thing about this is Jesus is about to face arrest, a false trial. Mocking beatings spit on, you know, the thorns in his head. He is about to be nailed to the cross. He is about to bear the sins of the world, but his only concern here is the needs of these 11 guys. He's wanting to assure them and comfort them.

Speaker 1:

So he says in John 14, verse 1, he says Let not your heart be troubled. And that's what he's telling us today. People, if you're worried, if you're agitated, if you're anxious, confused, whatever emotion is stirred up in you right now, ask yourself who are you trusting? What are you trusting? Because if it is not Jesus Christ, then I'm afraid you're going to be let down. People, because you see, friends, jesus sees our troubled heart, just like he did his disciples. He knows when we're hurting and when we're mad, when we're sad. He knows and he said to them and just like he's saying to us today, let not your heart be troubled. See, he's telling them, he's what he's telling them, and I'm paraphrasing the Lord, of course he's telling them you got to trust in me that I'm never going to leave you. Don't worry about things, just trust in me. He said you believe in God, believe also in me. You know. Jesus is saying you know you believed in God. Now believe and trust in me, because just because you won't see me, you know, doesn't mean that I'm not here. Just because you don't see me doesn't mean that I'm not going to be here, out here beside you. I'm here. He's telling them I'm in control and I'll always be here. You may not see me, but he says I'm here and I'm always going to be here.

Speaker 1:

John 14, two and three Jesus is. He wants us to trust in his promises. People, he says, in my father's house are many mansions. If it were not so, I would have told you, you know. He says I go to prepare a place for you and to receive you unto myself that where I am there, you may be also See, he's telling them. He's telling us, you know, today he's telling us you know what, if it wasn't the truth, I wouldn't be talking about it, I wouldn't be saying it.

Speaker 1:

He's saying people in his father's house. I mean wow, can you just grasp that? And he goes to prepare a place, friends, he's going to take us all to heaven with Him one day, to His Father's house. Do you get what he's saying? Are you letting your mind grasp what he's telling you right here? He's preparing a place for you and for me and for everybody that has put their trust in Jesus Christ. He's going to prepare a place in his Father's house. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, will be taking us home someday to his Father's house. You know Where's his Father's house Heaven, people, his Father's house. Don't you see what I'm trying to say here? Do you see what the point I'm trying to get to here?

Speaker 1:

And many mansions, wow, can you imagine that? Can you imagine the many mansions that's in this heavenly home, that's in his father's house? You know, no more homelessness, no more crowding. Room for everybody, for each and every one that believed and put their trust in Jesus Christ. There's going to be room for everybody.

Speaker 1:

Wow, I can't help but think wow, my little mansion in heaven. I don't care if I'm homeless in heaven, I don't care if I got a little lean-to with a dirt floor on the side of the golden streets, I don't care, as long as I am there, as long as I'm there to see my Father's face and to worship Him, jesus said he's going to come again and receive us to Himself and to worship him. Jesus said he's going to come again and receive us to himself, that there we're going to be, also People. What a promise. Not only to go and prepare a place for us, but to come back and get us. And he's not sending nobody back to get us. He's not sending no angels, he's not sending no big bunch of people, no chariots of fire, nothing. He's coming back to get us himself and to take us to his father's house. Man, that makes me want to just get up and run, I mean, and just think about how he loves us, to do this for us. You know, we can really trust in his promises, people, because when he says I'll be back, we can trust that he will.

Speaker 1:

You know he's wanting to tell us today that things may be rough, things may get dark. You may think that I'm not coming, but I will come back. I promise you, I will come back to get you, to take you to my father's house, to take you to my father's house. And you see, this scripture directly tells us that when you face anxiety and fear that's going to arise when you're facing certain difficult situations or circumstances or even uncertainty, he's telling us to put your trust in Jesus Christ, because he provides comfort, he provides hope. Christ, because he provides comfort, he provides hope. Even in the face of trials and tribulations, you can find solace and strength in your faith, in the promise of eternal life with Jesus Christ.

Speaker 1:

My friends, the assurance of a prepared place in heaven with Jesus, the assurance of his return someday, gives us a message of hope, even in the faces of death and all these crazy circumstances in the future and the craziness that's going to arise and come at us. See, jesus didn't want his disciples to be discouraged and that's why he took them to this upper room. That's why he's explaining to them that he's going away but that he is coming back. You know, he wants us to know that. You know where, where, where we're going to be next is so much better, so much better than this. See, he says don't, don't sweat the stuff, don't sweat all this stuff that's coming around you. Just rest and just put. The best is yet to come.

Speaker 1:

Put your trust and your faith in Jesus Christ, people, and that's what he's telling us. And he's telling us that, believing in his word and his promises, you know belief and faith. And that's what we need to stand strong upon his promises. We have to have belief and we have to have faith. You know, and, friends, if you look at it, jesus' very words themselves tells us what we need to know. He says if it were not so, I would have told you. If none of this wasn't the truth, I wouldn't be talking about it. If it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you and that's all we need to really believe and understand is he's going to prepare a place for us and he's coming back. The very old one who stood up on our behalf, the very old one who gave his life on the cross and shed his blood, the very old one, is preparing a place for us people.

Speaker 1:

And why we can't just let that sink in and why can't we grasp what that means? I'll never understand. I'll never understand that. You know, in my father's house just think about that statement to be living together with god in heaven. You know, through our bodies right now, it's beyond our capability to comprehend the things that he's going to do for us and being in His Father's house, we will never be able to comprehend that here, but Scripture does give us a picture of some of the things that we will be able to expect in heaven Revelations 7, verses 15 through 17. And this is what the word says. We're not going to need none of that. Praise the Lord. What a promise, people. What a promise. Right there it is, and isn't that an incredible thought, but what a place that's going to be Full of wonders and delights, full of joy and people. Where we will, we will, I promise you, see the face of God in all His glory.

Speaker 1:

You know, my friends, brothers and sisters, saints and sinners, jesus tells his disciples later on in here, in just a few verses in this chapter, how we can get to be with him in his Father's house for the rest of eternity. Jesus said in John 14, verse 6, he said I am the way, the truth and the life. He says no man cometh unto the Father but by me, people, to be in his presence, to be in his Father's house, to be in your little mansion that he's going to prepare, you know, to stroll all over heaven with him, you must believe in Jesus Christ. You must repent from your sins and follow the Lord and believe. You have to believe people, and it says you'll be saved. His word don't lie.

Speaker 1:

And I'm telling you today if you don't know Jesus Christ, then today is the day to get to know him, and he is the only way to the Father in heaven. You know he will come and he's going to take us to his Father's house. Everything's ready, he has it prepared. He's got the way prepared. All you have to do is follow him. All you have to do is follow him. Jesus Christ takes us by the hand and he leads us and he guides us every single day. He doesn't tell us about the way because, people, he is the way and he's telling you and he's telling me today I will be back to get you, I will lead the way. Let not your heart be troubled, just trust in him. That's all he's saying. Trust in him, don't be troubled. Yeah, there's trouble times coming. It's coming. It's going to get crazier, but he said let not your heart be troubled. You believe in God. Believe also in me.

Speaker 1:

People, I want to ask you today what is your source of comfort? Is it your family, your friends, your soft blanket that you wrap up in at nine in front of the TV, maybe what's in your bank account? You know, sometimes we as human beings seem to settle for cheap comfort counterfeits, if you will like a pat on the back or a small smile or perhaps a little nod, and people seem to settle for that, and all these will provide you a little bit of comfort. But, people, it won't last. It won't last.

Speaker 1:

We have to remember that Jesus will provide for every need, no matter what. He'll never leave you. He is your comforter and he's telling us today, each and every one of us. He's telling somebody here today and each and every one of us let not your heart be troubled, regardless of what you go through, regardless of what you see, keep believing in me, keep trusting in my words. I am your comforter. You know how many of you needed to hear that today? I'm sure a few, quite a few people. I telling you never, ever, for a second doubt the promises of Jesus Christ that he's made. Let not your heart be troubled. Jesus is going to take care of you, no matter what he's going to take us to with him to his father's house someday. We just have to trust in him. And I say it over and over again I go to prepare a place for you. And I say it over and over again I go to prepare a place for you. Friends, I'm telling you today, I'm telling you today If your faith is in Christ, then Jesus Christ has your room ready. He's just waiting to bring you into his presence.

Speaker 1:

Now we're not promised to be free from doubts. We're not promised free from struggles and pain. We're not guaranteed immunity from doubts. We're not promised free from struggles and pain. We're not guaranteed immunity from suffering. Because, just because we've placed our faith in Christ, we've not promised a bed of roses no, we're not. But one thing we are promised people, and I promise you today, we are promised that we will. He will get us through whatever we go through, whatever we step into, whatever road we get on, whatever journey. He will be with us every single step of the way. He said I'll be with you always, even until the end of the world.

Speaker 1:

Now, people, if you are resting your salvation on Christ, you won't have to worry about getting to heaven. You've got your salvation. Rest on Jesus Christ. You're not going to have to worry about getting to heaven. You know why? Because he's going to come and take you there himself. Each and every one of us Praise the Lord. He's going to come and take you there himself, but you've got to put your trust in him. You have got to put your trust in Jesus Christ. Today. You've got to tell him. You've got to ask him into your heart to be your personal savior. You've got to tell him I want you to come and cleanse me. I want to be able to get on this road and the street with you and walk with you to heaven. I want to go to your father's house. You have to let him know that he knows your heart.

Speaker 1:

People, some people are just hesitant to walk with God. Some people are hesitant to let Jesus in their heart. But I'm telling you people, he's coming back someday, jesus in their heart. But I'm telling you people, he is coming back someday and he said he's coming for the very ones that's. Put their trust in him.

Speaker 1:

And today I'm telling you you need to put your trust in Jesus Christ. He is your comforter Out of every little thing. You can wrap up with your little blankets, all you want to, in front of your TV and feel all snuggly and warm, but it is not going to be the comfort that Jesus Christ offers you. It's not going to be the comfort that you're going to need in the future when all the stuff hits the fan. It's not going to be the comfort that you're going to be able to hide under a blanket. You're going to need the comfort of Jesus Christ to get through.

Speaker 1:

And he's telling us today let not your heart be troubled. He's telling somebody today let all that anxiety go, let all that fear go, Let all of the agitation go, put it aside, let not your heart be troubled and give it to God and let Jesus Christ be your comforter today. And, my friends, that's all I have today and I'm going to close this with a prayer. But before I go, I want to tell you this I hope and pray to God. This has blessed you as much as it's blessed me to bring it to you, and I hope that this goes to the people that need to hear it, the hearts that need to let Jesus in, the minds that need to comprehend what those words mean. Let not your heart be troubled. I go to prepare a place for you. In my Father's house are many mansions. Read that, people, and let it sink in.

Speaker 1:
