Host: Deb Osborne Episode 175

Send us a text

Sister Deb explores life's most important question: where will you spend eternity? Heaven and hell are both real destinations, and the decisions we make determine our eternal fate.

• Our earthly life is brief while eternity is forever
• Jesus clearly taught about two eternal destinations - heaven with God or hell separated from Him
• Salvation comes only through faith in Christ - no other path leads to eternal life
• Preparing for eternity requires repentance, living in holiness, and sharing the gospel
• Statistics show three people die every second - we cannot predict when our time will come
• Being a "good person" or church member isn't enough - you must be born again
• Hell has no exits or second chances - the time to decide is now
• Hell was created for the devil and his demons, not for humanity

Speaker 3:

Oh Jesus, I'm singing and praising with my mouth. I just got to thinking about how our life is full of choices. We all have to choose between things. Choose this one or that one, or one or the other, or where to eat, what to drink. Our life is full of choices, our life is full of choices and those choices that we make. Our eternal destiny depends on those choices, and I want to talk to you today about the choices that we make and making the right choice, and I have a question that I want every single body that's listening to me to think about.

Speaker 3:

My question is where will you spend eternity? Now, of course, you know we've got two destinations, two eternal destinations. You have heaven, of course, a place of beauty and wonder and just eternal union with God. Then, of course, you have hell. It's a place of torment and eternal separation from God. Forever, god, forever.

Speaker 3:

So, friends, we really need to think about this, because we are all going to spend eternity somewhere, and the Bible is very clear that every person who has ever lived will spend eternity, even in heaven or hell. And the most important issue that you're ever going to face in life is where will you spend eternity? You'll have other questions, you'll have other issues, you'll have other things you have to ponder on, but the most important one that you're ever going to have to face is where you will spend eternity. And I hope and pray. I know you've heard, you know you've heard eternity messages before, I'm sure, but people need to listen. You need to listen at what I'm saying here and, like I said, the decisions in our life that we make determine where we're going to spend our eternity. So let's talk about the certainty of eternity, because we know it's certain, and let's talk about the great importance of preparing for it. And let's talk about the great importance of preparing for it Now.

Speaker 3:

James 4 and 14, it reminds us that every single one of us, that our life is just a mist that appears for a little while and then it vanishes. Yeah, friends, our earthly life is brief. I don't care how old you are, but eternity is forever. I don't care how old you are, but eternity is forever. And 2 Corinthians 5 and 10 teaches us that we will all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. We will all stand before him, we will all give account of our lives, every deed, good or bad, everything we've said, everything we did, is going to be judged and the verdict is going to determine where we will spend eternity.

Speaker 3:

Right Now, of course, jesus spoke you know, very clearly about the two destinations. Of course, in Matthew 25, he talks about, you know, life in heaven and eternal life. You know. And he also talks about you know, life in hell and separated from God. And we know heaven's a place of joy and peace with God's presence. And we know, according to Luke 16, hell is described as a place of torment. And I'm telling you here today, people, somebody needs to listen to this. John 14 and 6 says makes it very clear that Jesus is the only way to the Father in heaven.

Speaker 3:

Salvation and eternal life are only available through faith in Christ. There's no other path you're going to be able to take. There's no other religion that's going to lead you to eternal life in heaven with the Father. Because we know, friends, that Jesus Christ paid the price for our sins when he died on the cross, offering us a gift of life, a gift of eternal life Romans 6.23. And without his sacrifice we would all be condemned to life forever separated from God. I can't imagine that you know, people.

Speaker 3:

I'm just telling you you need to prepare yourself for eternity. And of course, you know the first step to preparing for eternity is to repent of your sins. Except Jesus Christ in your heart is your personal savior. Acts 3.19 calls for us to repent, to turn to God so that your sins may be wiped out Acts 3.19. Then, after that, the next thing is live a life of holiness. Hebrews 12 and 14 says Without holiness, no one will see the Lord. So we have to live a life that's free from sin, a life that pleases God, that we have to walk in obedience and in holiness. And another thing people also, as believers in Christ, we have to share the gospel. We have to share the good news of our salvation, of salvation that he offers, with other people so that they will also have the opportunity to make that same choice. What does he tell us in Matthew 28, 19 and 20? Go ye, therefore, and teach all nations. You know. Go ye, therefore, and teach all nations. You know. Go ye, therefore, and teach all nations. So he's telling us to go out there and tell everybody.

Speaker 3:

So now, the other day I talked about John 3, 16. And this, of course, is the most beloved verse in the Bible, in the Word of God, and some of it I'm not going to recite the whole thing, but some of it goes that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish. Friends, that right there is telling us there is a possibility of perishing, perishing eternally forever. But when you believe in Jesus Christ, you're not going to perish, you have to have eternal life. You will have eternal life through Jesus Christ, which is why I implore you, if you want to say beg, I'll beg whatever. I want you to listen to my voice today, people, because listen, know this Every day we live closer to eternity. Every single step, every breath we take is a step closer to our eternity. And if you die in your sins, without Christ in your heart, then you're sealing your own doom. You are your faith's sealed forever. You know, because when you believe me, I mean there's no second chances in the life to come, there's no do-overs, there's no begging, there's no pleading, there's nothing you're ever going to be able to ever say to change anything. You're not going to say, you're not going to be able to say, wow, can I have one more chance? Nope, because you've had ample amper chances and opportunities. Has been told to you, preached to you. You've heard people tell you, talk about heaven, talk about hell, talk about eternity, talk about burning, and it doesn't. It didn't get anywhere. And so when you draw that last breath anywhere, and so when you draw that last breath, your eternity is starting right there. And if you draw that breath, your eternity, that last breath, your eternity is going to start without Jesus Christ. If you have not given your heart to him, if you have not made that decision to invite him into your heart to be your savior, your eternity will start without him and there's not going to be nothing you can ever, ever do.

Speaker 3:

Hebrews 9 and 27 says it's appointed unto men once to die, but after this comes the judgment. Jesus said in Matthew 25, 46,. Jesus said and these shall go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life, the righteous People. The righteous is those who've put their trust in Christ, those people who've been washed in the blood of the Lamb, those people who have made the choice to live what's left of their life in this world for Christ. That's the righteous. So think of it like this the destiny of the dead people, those who've gone on, you know, those who died in the Lord and those who died in their sins is totally different.

Speaker 3:

Friends, I'm telling you but trust me right now, when you hear my words and you hear this, my voice hell, heaven is for real, but hell is too, and I'm telling you, our lord and savior, jesus christ, never intended for you to go to hell. Hell was not created for us. Hell was created for the devil and his demons, and in the end, the devil and his demons will be thrown into that bottomless pit forever that he don't even hold the key. He calls himself king of hell or whatever, but he doesn't even hold the key to his own house. We know who holds that key. Friends, you don't want to go there. You don't have to go there. This life right here that we are leading is it's it's, it's in it's physical. Our physical life is in preparation for our eternal life. This is a test that we are going through right now, to see where we're going to spend eternity. And these choices that you make I don't care how far, I don't care how long you live, I don't care how old you are it's not going to compare to eternity.

Speaker 3:

People Trust me, and the fact in life is that your life could be cut short just any time. You may not live a very long life and we know there's a lot of people and kids that's not. Most people expect that when they just come down to the end of their life they just call their family in, say their goodbyes, close their eyes and go to sleep. It don't happen that way, my friend, to everybody. It does not happen like that all the time. I mean right here in our own community just last week there was people sitting at a red light. They didn't know that was their last few minutes when they were waiting on the red light to change brother, brother, they didn't know that that was their last few seconds to live. The young man coming by in his car he did not know that was his last few seconds. The little boy, the little boy in breath at county they just buried the other day. He did not know when he went to sleep that night, even though he's already got his home, he still did not know people we don't know. We don't know, my friends. It doesn't happen like that all the time.

Speaker 3:

I read somewhere that three people die, statistical speaking. They say that three people die every second one, two, three, four. One, two, three, four, five. Fifteen people just died Somewhere out there. According to statistics, fifteen people just died. I counted to five seconds. Now did these people die, lost? We can all hope and pray. Not you know, we don't even know that it could be some of our family's way off, people that we don't know, our friends, we don't know. But I'm telling you, most people live their life chasing their wealth and their pleasure and their success.

Speaker 3:

But, my friends, I'm here to tell you right now. Matthew 16 and 26 warns us that what good would it be for someone to gain the whole world and to lose your soul? See, friends, worldly pleasures out there are temporary, but eternity, eternity is forever. And that's why I'm trying to preach this into your head today about where you're going to live your eternity. And I want to tell you a reality right now. Hell is real and hell is hot and it's a place of eternal separation from God. There's going to be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Read Matthew 13.

Speaker 3:

People, please don't ignore this. Do not ignore what I'm trying to get through to you today, because it's real. It's real and my friends, jesus invites everyone to come uh, to come to him for salvation. In john 3, 16, he said god so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son. He loved this world so much he gave his son that. Whosoever which is you and me and everybody who believes in him, you won't perish. You will not perish. You'll have eternal life.

Speaker 3:

Ask yourself today do you have eternal life? Have you given your heart to Jesus Christ? And if you died right now, where would you go? You need to ask yourself that, and I may sound like I'm mad about it. Maybe I am mad about it because I can't, for the life of me, fathom why you're not letting this sink in, why anybody would want to choose hellfire.

Speaker 3:

People ask yourself this and be sure this? I don't know, I'm not for sure. I hope so. Or maybe that's a gamble? That's a gamble, and why gamble with your eternity? People, you need to listen to me today. Where will you spend eternity? And that's the most important question that every individual person is going to have to answer. You know Now, jesus made the way for life eternal through his sacrifice. Jesus made the way, he is the way, and he said it's up to each and every one of us to accept his gift. And as you think about this question that I pose to you today, please ensure that your life is in alignment with God's will. People do not be caught. Do not be caught without the Lord.

Speaker 3:

If you've not made that decision to follow Christ, friends, I'm telling you you need to do it right now. Don't put it off. Don't gamble with your eternity, because you need to remember that your time on earth is short. I don't care how old you are, your time on earth is short. I don't care how old you are, your time on earth is short and eternity is forever. Take God at his word. I'm begging you, I implore you, to take God at his word and his promises Claim his promises of salvation.

Speaker 3:

Romans 10, 9,. Thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in thy heart that God raised him from the dead. Thou shalt be saved. Thou shalt be saved. Romans 10, 13, whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Being a good person is not good enough. Putting your name on a church membership is not enough. People, you have to be born again. You have to be washed in the blood of Jesus Christ. He gave his life on the cross for you and for me, and he gave us that promise. He gave us ample opportunity and chances to come to him Now.

Speaker 3:

You may not like the things that I'm saying, but you know what. That's okay with me, because you need to know where you're going to go when you leave this world. And I want you to think about it. And if I make you mad because you know I'm trying to get you to open up your eyes about this and if you get upset and mad about it, then oh well, I hope you do and I don't mind if you do, because I'm worried about your eternity, your soul, you know, and I need you to think about this. Think it over, don't wait too long.

Speaker 3:

People Remember, life is short and eternity is long and your soul is at stake here. Your soul is eternal and after your body is dead, your soul will live on in heaven or hell. People, now we're all on a journey to eternity, from the very breath we breathe to up to now. We're still on that journey to eternity and there's no turning back. There's no way you're going to miss this appointment.

Speaker 3:

To me, it's like we're all in a line and when we get up to the time and get up to the front of this line, then our time is there. We can't step out of line and say, okay, go on before me. We can't let people behind us go. We can't not go. That is our eternity, people, and when we step up to the front of that line, that's our time and you need to step up to the front of that line with Jesus Christ in your heart. Now. Eternity is forever and I wish I could stress enough that to you. Our minds, I know, cannot comprehend. It's so great, it's so vast, it's not even measured. How do they even measure it? It'll never end.

Speaker 3:

I don't know about you, but I want to spend eternity with my Lord and Savior, where there's no death, no sorrow, no pain, no crying, no streets of gold, gates of pearl, river of life. You get the picture right. You know what the alternative is. You know the alternative Weeping and gnashing of teeth, people. Where will you spend eternity? Think about that, because this road of life that you're on will end someday, and jesus tells us that that broad road leads to destruction, that broad road ends in hell, and every person who chooses that broad road roadway will find themselves in hell. Someday you will open up your eyes in the fires of hell and to me that's the most awful thought there is and I can't, for the life of me, figure out why anyone would choose that.

Speaker 3:

I think I've said that already. Why? Unquenchable fire, unspeakable pain, misery, no mercy Ever, no deliverance Ever? Friends, I just want you to understand today why not get on the narrow road to Jesus. It ends in heaven Joy, peace, rest, beauty, glory, no pain, no sorrow, no death. Glory is beyond description. My friends, today I want you to open up your eyes and realize that everything that hell is heaven isn't. Where will you spend eternity?

Speaker 3:

And I hope and pray that I've said something here today to open up your eyes, to open up your eyes and open up your heart, and I want you to think about these things that I have said here today. People don't gamble with your soul in eternity. And I'm going to end this with a prayer. That's all I have on this and I don't mean to make anybody mad. I hope it didn't hurt nobody's feelings. But, people, you need to know today where you're headed and you need to make that decision and you need to know the path to destruction, the path to hell. There's no do-overs, there's no second chances. Hell has no exits. There's no second chances. Hell has no exits. Anyway, I hope and pray that I've said something today that has opened up your eyes and your heart and your mind. I hope this has blessed you as much as it blessed me to bring it to you. I thank you for listening and I'm going to end this with a prayer and I want you to just think about what I've said.

Speaker 3:

People and God bless everybody, our Father in heaven I hope and pray that somebody has heard these words, your words that come straight out of your Bible, that come straight out of your scripture.

Speaker 3:

Let them open up their eyes and their ears and understand what the decisions they need to make in their lives. Let these words go to the people that need to hear it, to the hearts and the souls and the minds and the ears that needs to hear it, to the hearts and the souls and the minds and the ears that needs to hear this. Let them feel it, let it burn in their heart that they need to understand what's coming and they don't have to go through all of that. I ask you, lord, to just bless them and let them to understand and take your promises, lord, and live on your promises. We thank you, lord, for this message and for each and every blessing that you bestowed upon us. Bless each and everybody, lord, that's listening here today. Just work on their hearts and their minds. Lord, we thank you for everything. In Jesus' holy sweet name, we pray.

Speaker 1:

Amen and amen.
