Jesus Is Coming: Are You Ready?

Host: Deb Osborne editor/ producer JD Episode 183

Send us a text

Sister Deb delivers a soul-stirring wake-up call about the imminent return of Jesus Christ. With unwavering conviction, she emphasizes a truth too often overlooked in today's churches: "Ready or not, He's coming." This isn't merely a theological concept but a promised reality that demands our immediate attention.

The urgency in Sister Deb's message resonates throughout as she points to the unmistakable signs surrounding us—wars, rumors of wars, nation rising against nation, famines, pestilence, and earthquakes occurring with increasing frequency. These aren't coincidental events but biblical prophecies unfolding before our eyes. She reminds us that God's track record of fulfilled prophecies is perfect; every prediction from Noah's flood to the virgin birth of Christ came to pass exactly as foretold. His future promises, including Christ's return, carry the same certainty.

What makes this message particularly powerful is the stark contrast presented between preparedness and unpreparedness. For believers living in holiness and service, Christ's return brings unimaginable joy—the end of suffering, pain, and death. For those unprepared, it means judgment with eternal consequences. Sister Deb doesn't mince words: "Heaven is free, but hell is forever." Salvation costs nothing because Jesus already paid the price, yet many continue postponing this life-altering decision.

The most sobering reminder comes when Sister Deb describes how Christ will return "in the twinkling of an eye"—the fastest human reflex possible—leaving no time for last-minute prayers or repentance. Now is the acceptable time; today is the day of salvation. Not tomorrow, not someday, but right now. Don't gamble with eternity or make the same mistake as the foolish virgins who delayed their preparations until it was too late. Your relationship with Jesus Christ is the only thing that will matter when He splits the skies.

Ready to make that life-changing decision? Listen to Bible Talk every Sunday at 4 pm on WTUK 105.1 FM or stream the podcast on Apple or Spotify. Your eternal destiny hangs in the balance—choose wisely.

Speaker 3:

Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. It's awesome to be back in the studio today with my brother James to spread the Word of God. So, brother, we're here still. You know they had this thing going around on Facebook that today was supposed to have been the day of the rapture, and I'm still here, and you're still here, well, oh well, I don't know what to say, so anyway, but I do what I am going to talk about today. I hope and pray you. Let it sink in, because it's right along the lines with what I just brought up.

Speaker 3:

Jesus is coming soon and his return is certain, and I need you to let that sink in for just a minute. Just let those words sink in the signs of the times. Tell us, all around us, us that we're closer than ever before. And every believer, my friends, every believer, has to be ready. We must be living in holiness, we must be serving God and watching in prayer. He tells us to watch. So are you ready for the coming of Christ? I mean it could be any time, it could be tonight, today's coming of Christ. I mean it could be any time. It could be tonight, today's, not over yet. I mean it could be tonight, it could be tomorrow. We don't know this, which is why I keep trying to say we have to be ready.

Speaker 3:

Jesus told us in the book of Revelations three times that he's coming, and I believe that. And he told us in Matthewthew 24, 42. He said what's therefore for you know not what hour your lord doeth come? He said in matthew 25, 13 what's therefore for you know neither today nor the hour we're in. The son of man cometh. I mean people, nothing is going to stop it. It's coming. Ready or not he's coming. And I know you've heard this ready or not thing. You know, when you were growing up and you played hide and go see with all the neighborhood kids, everybody goes and hides and this person hollers ready or not? Here I come, and people, god is telling us today, ready or or not he's coming. And I need you to think about these words, think about the words of Jesus. You know he thought these words were so important enough that he said it three times in the 22nd chapter of Revelation. He said it three times I am coming soon.

Speaker 3:

And his promise of I'm coming soon is you know, for some of us it's going to be great news and for others it's going to be not so great news. And you see, for the Christian people, for us, for you and for me, for all of those who have given our lives to the Lord, jesus Christ, it's going to be the best news possible that we could ever ever hope to hear. You know it is. This is the best news possible Because we live in a world that's broken.

Speaker 3:

When we look around, we see tragedy, we see death. We see death everywhere. We see greed and hatred, we see war and violence. I mean people. We see it all around us every single day, the signs of the times. They're there.

Speaker 3:

But when Christ fulfills his promise, all of the above mentioned stuff is going to end. There's going to be no more suffering, no more pain, no more death, no more hunger nor thirst. He will wipe every single tear from our eyes, people. But now for those who don't know Christ, his return is going to be probably the worst news you'll ever hear, because they will be gathered before the judgment throne and they will give an account for all that they have said throughout and all they have done in their lives. Friends, that day will not end well for those people. They will be cast into the lake of fire with the devil and his angels.

Speaker 3:

And the thing about it is, god did not intend for us to go to hell. It was not built for us and he doesn't intend for us, and that's why it's so urgent that you listen to this right here. That's why I's so urgent that you listen to this right here. That's why I'm repeating this. You know, if he tells me to do it again next month, I'm gonna do it again because the day will come, people. I trust me. The day will come when god's patience with this evil world is going to run out. That day will come when christ keeps his promise to return and take all of us home. Wow.

Speaker 3:

I mean wow, you know, friends, the book of Revelation, it's not some kind of fairy tale. It's true, it's all true, it's not fiction. And the very fact that God says it means that it's going to happen, because God said my word shall never return to me void. He will always accomplish the purposes from which it was sent. If God said fire would scorch the earth, trust me it's going to happen. If he says that a third of the rivers is going to turn rotten, trust me they will. If God says demons are going to come out of hell in the pit chapter 9, it will happen. And you see, god has a perfect record. He's got a perfect record. He said the world would die by water. It did. He said Babylon would fall it did. He said Jerusalem would fall, and it did. He said a Messiah would come, and he did. And he said that Messiah would be born of a virgin in Bethlehem and be slaughtered. And he was. See, god's record will be just as perfect as his past record, his future record. He's never missed anything yet and he's not going to miss anything in the future.

Speaker 3:

He said there're going to, there's going to be wars. We see it daily, rumors of wars. We hear it daily nation against nation, fest fest, famines and pestilence, people, we see it daily, earthquakes you hear of earthquake every day. Somewhere he said armageddon was going to happen and it it will. The Antichrist is coming and it's going to come. Believers martyred will happen. That is happening right now all around us. And he said the Messiah was going to come back to reign, and he is People. I don't know what else to say or do to get it into your head that God said that it's going to happen. It's going to happen and that term at hand when he says at hand, it's imminent, it means that the very next event on God's clock is the return of Jesus Christ. And, friends, we need to get busy seeking the Lord. We need to get rid of all the garbage in our lives and get down to the business of obedience, of worship, proclamation, service, and we need to do this, like today.

Speaker 3:

You know you may say well, someday I'm going to study the Bible, someday I'm going to witness to my neighbors and someday I'm going to go over and pray for them Someday. Someday, I mean people. Now is the time. Today's the day. You know, today is the day because I got news for you the second coming of Christ is going to be an actual event and every single body is going to experience it. And people, it is nigh. No one's going to miss it. No one's going to miss seeing him coming in those clouds of glory Revelations 1 and 7, every single body is going to see him. And this is not a metaphorical event, it's not a spiritual awakening, it's not a phenomenon that only happens one time. This is reality. This is Jesus Christ physically doing what he said he would do, what he promised us he would do, and it's going to be sudden. And right up until that very time, people's going to be going about their daily lives without a clue that it's even happening. But they will look up someday and it's going to be happening, people, and that's why it's so important not to get caught up in the craziness of the world and get your eyes focused on Jesus Christ.

Speaker 3:

I said it in my last podcast. I talk about how we were losing focus. We put God in our peripheral vision and we try to look ahead and we don't put him there. And you know we're not going to be able to look ahead and go ahead without him. You know, when we were young, the cry of the church when we were going to church was always Jesus is coming soon. I couldn't tell you how many times I've heard that preached. We all have the stirring message back then was always about the soon return of Christ. And see, the thing about it is it's so sad today is that powerful cry that Jesus Christ is coming soon. It's seldom heard in God's house today, that Jesus Christ is coming soon. It's seldom heard in God's house today. People I mean in fact Christians live very few, live with the sense of expectancy, looking for, yearning for Jesus' return today. You know what I'm saying. After the 9-11 attacks in 2001, people flocked to churches and they prayed fervently like they've never prayed before. But just six months later there were fewer people attending church than there was before 9-11.

Speaker 3:

Now you know, let's face it, there is times in this Christian life when the journey gets hard, especially when the realities of life hit you square in the face, you know. But, friends, no matter how challenging this life gets, we have a real hope and that hope is that Jesus is coming soon. That Word of God said it's going to be in a twinkling of an eye. And do you know how fast that is? I read somewhere about up on that a little bit and I read that there was actually books wrote about in the twinkling of an eye, and it's the fastest human reflex that our body can do, the fastest thing that our body can do. Now, friends, either way, you're not going to have time to pray, you're not going to have time for repentance, no time to make things right, which is why I'm trying to get you to let it sink in, friends, that you've got to do something now.

Speaker 3:

Now, you know, the message that we get in Revelation 22 is the last chapter in the Bible is that Jesus is coming soon and he is coming back. And he's coming back to get his children, he's coming back to judge the sinners and to put the devil and his angels in the bottomless pit forever. And he said it over and over and over behold, I'm coming soon. You know, and we need to. He said it over and over and over. So we maybe, hopefully get this ringing in our ears. You know, uh, that maybe we will understand and open our eyes up. He really wants us to know and he wants us to take hold of his promise, and he can come anytime.

Speaker 3:

You know, we can't grow complacent as we wait for his return. Rather, we need to be ready. We need to be always ready for that glorious day, because he's going to come and take us all home, where we belong. But, friends, you have to be ready, you know. You know what I'm saying. You have to be ready, you know when the Lord comes again and you and I, we're going to be raised up, we're going to be restored glorified bodies and we're going to see our Savior face to face. That's the great hope. Because of Christ's promise.

Speaker 3:

We have to believe he's coming, and he's telling us today. He's telling us Christ's promise. We have to believe he's coming, and he's telling us today. He's telling us to hold on. He's telling us to stay close to God. Hold on tight Because it won't be long. Hold on to his promise, because I'm coming soon. He's saying it over and over and over. You know what I'm saying and, people, I just want you to open up your heart and your mind and listen. I beg you, please take this advice and don't delay anymore. Jesus wants you to come to him today.

Speaker 3:

The Bible says in 2 Corinthians now is the acceptable time. Behold, now is the day of salvation. You need to quit putting this important matter off. It's important Don't make the same mistake made by the foolish virgins. Look what they did. They put off doing anything about their lamps. And then what happened? It was too late.

Speaker 3:

Because I'm telling you, friends, if you are caught not ready when Christ returns, you're going to have nobody to blame for yours, but yourself, because God's Word has given already, has given you such an ample warning that you're not going to have no excuse. Please, please, remember Jesus may come at any time now and you can't start thinking, well, I'm just going to, oh, I'll start living, I'll start getting on fire for God someday, someday may be too late, someday I'm going to get on fire for God. Friends, I'm telling you, today is the day to be filled with Christ. Today is the day before it's too late, because you can see it all around us. It's coming, he is coming and you need to let it sink in. And I don't mean in theory, I am telling you all Jesus is on his way.

Speaker 3:

I'm telling you, someday the trumpet is going to sound and I beg you, don't gamble with eternity, because when he comes and he splits those skies, there's not going to be any do-overs, there's not going to be well, lord. You know, nobody told me I didn't know. He don't want to hear that stuff, because he's told you ample time in his word. He's told you ample time through other people. You know you need to seek the Lord while you can, people, because he is coming. I'm telling you he is coming, and he's not just coming, he's coming quickly, quickly. That little bitty adverb moves his return from inevitable to imminent, from someday he's coming to just any day now.

Speaker 3:

And I want you to be ready. Ask yourself are you ready If Jesus Christ comes right now and splits those skies? Are you ready? Have you given your heart to Jesus? If not, I so urge you to turn your life over to God, declare that Jesus Christ is the Lord and believe in your heart that he died on the cross for your sins, and believe that he came back on that third day and believe that he's coming again. You know he left us with one last invitation in Revelation 22, 17. He said come, any of you that are thirst, come and lay down your burdens and drink from the water of life freely. He's asked us and asked us and asked us. He's gave us plenty of opportunities. He's asked us and asked us and asked us gave us plenty of opportunities.

Speaker 3:

Friends, I'm going to repeat this over and over and over, and even if it saves one person, if it helps one soul to turn their life over to jesus christ, it's worth it to me if I repeat it a hundred times and it leads just one person to the arms of jesus, it's well worth it. And I know you're probably tired of hearing the same thing. But, friends, trust me, if you're tired of hearing Christ is coming again, what do you think the people in hell are? They're probably wishing they could hear it again. Trust me, one more, even one more time. Friends, don't waste your opportunity. Jesus is coming soon.

Speaker 3:

Judgment Day is coming and one day, no matter how wealthy you are, no matter what kind of car you drive, no matter what kind of house you live in, no matter how popular you are, on this day, jesus Christ is coming. The only thing that's going to matter on that day is your relationship with Jesus Christ. My friends, I'm telling you, if you miss heaven and you miss that opportunity, if you throw this opportunity away right now that God is giving you to clean your life up, straighten your life up, get on fire for him, if you miss that opportunity and you miss heaven. Trust me, you will regret it. You will think about this one day and you will regret not taking God up on the offer of salvation. People, this is no joke. It's no joke.

Speaker 3:

And trust me, going to hell is not going to be an accident. There's nothing accidental about it. It's called a choice. A choice and the thing is hell is forever, eternity. Heaven's free Salvation is free. People, give your heart to God, get your name in that book of life. It's got to be there or you will not get through them gates. I'm telling you he's coming, people, he's coming soon and heaven awaits you. Salvation in heaven awaits you. And God gave us one last word in Revelation, that very last invitation come and drink from the water of life freely, people. That's his last word. The other last word is up to you. It's up to you whether you're giving your life to the Lord, because he's given you a free invitation. He's handing out salvation. It's free. Don't cost handing out salvation. It's free, don't cost you a thing. Heaven is free and hell is forever.

Speaker 3:

And I'm not trying to make people mad. I'm not trying to hurt anybody's feelings. I'm trying to tell you, people, jesus Christ is coming someday and if you wait around here and you let him split those skies, or either you sit and you take your last breath and you have not given your soul and your heart to Jesus Christ, it's going to be too late. There's going to be no time at all to make things right. It's going to be a sorry, sorry time. I'm just trying to get you to understand that time is winding up and we don't know the hour or the day. I don't care how much they get on TV and predict it, I don't care how many people say God told me this and God told me that. You know what the angels in heaven, the son of man, don't even know. So don't let anybody tell you they know the day, because it's not going to happen. They don't know, but there is going to come a day that time is going to be no more.

Speaker 3:

I urge you to take heed. What I said here today it cost you nothing. It cost you nothing for salvation. It cost you nothing. Heaven is free. I'll say it again Heaven and salvation are free and hell is free. I'll say it again. I'll say it again Heaven and salvation are free and hell is forever. That's all I got on that right now.

Speaker 3:

I just hope and pray that this somebody has understood and will open up their hearts and their ears to what I've said here today, and I hope this has blessed you as much as it's blessed me to bring it to you Now. Am I going to say it again someday? Probably will, since I've been doing this and more than likely I'm going to do it again and if that's what God tells me to do, that's what I'm going to do. But people, open up your eyes, open up your heart and open up your ears, and I'm going to end this with a prayer and God bless everybody. Thank you for listening.

Speaker 3:

Our Father, god in heaven, lord, I ask you to let these people that's hearing this today, let them open up their hearts and their ears to salvation. Let them open up their ears and their minds to understand God where they stand, lord, they need to get their hearts and their minds in clear, clear view with you, god. Get on the same page with you Lord, invite you into their hearts so you can be their Savior there. Let them understand that salvation is free. They don't have to pay nothing. It's nothing. The price is already paid. Jesus Christ already paid the price, and people need to understand that. God, let these people see this, let them understand it. Lord, I thank you for this beautiful day and everything that you've given us. I thank you for this word. I just ask you to please let this go to the ears and the heart that needs to hear it. We thank you, jesus, for everything. In Jesus' holy, sweet name, we pray. Amen. God bless everybody. I've been talking with my mind. Yeah, stand on Jesus.
