SPEAKER_01:Praise the Lord, praise the Lord. Wow, it feels like it's been forever since I've been here behind the mic. So happy new year. I can say that because it's still a few more days to go, right? So welcome to Bible Talk. Uh I was trying to figure out a few things that I wanted to talk about today. And I, you know, the time right now, this time of year is this little bit of time right here is newness. You know, people people are wearing their new clothes that they got for Christmas. They're sporting new watches and jewelry. Some people even driving new cars, you know. Right after Christmas, we have a lot of new. Newness, I guess, if you want to call it that. So then, of course, we have those people that make New Year's resolutions. We we uh we seek to change things in the upcoming year and we vow and swear and promise to do this. I was reading the other day about a uh a young man who went to a New Year's Eve party and he asked one of his friends for a cigarette. And and his friend said, Well, you know, I thought you your New Year's resolution you were gonna quit smoking. I thought you were gonna quit. And the young man said, Well, I'm in the process of quitting right now. I I'm in phase one of quitting, is what the man said, the young boy said. And so his friend said, Well, uh, explain to me what is phase one. You're trying to quit, you're asking me for one. So what is phase one? Okay. And the young man said, Well, phase one is I've quit buying them. So, you know, I kind of thought that was funny, but anyway. Ha ha. Uh, but but my but the reason I say that is, you know what, that's the way it is. We we all want to change things, but we don't we don't do what we what's necessary to change things. We we don't want to make that change. We uh we say we're gonna change this and we're gonna change that, and you know, I'm gonna lose some weight and I'm gonna stop smoking. And, you know, we say we make all these resolutions, and I and they say, and I'm not quite sure who they are, but I heard that a lot, they say that 90% of all New Year's resolutions will not last for just a month. About a month. Now I know myself I even got on that bandwagon myself. I don't know, people that know me, you guys that know me know that within the last seven or eight months, I've lost about 70 plus pounds. Feel good about myself. Um, and somehow or another, over the course of the last month between Thanksgiving and now, some of those pounds have somehow or another gotten found their way back to my body. You know what I'm saying? Uh and so I get on that bandwagon and I tell myself, well, now I'm gonna I'm gonna lay off the sweet stuff next year. Uh next year I'm gonna quit eating the chocolate chips and and and the chocolate candy and the peanut butter and the Reese's peanut butter cups. Oh my gosh. I mean, I'm gonna stop that. But I think, well, why do I wait till next year? Why do I why don't I go on and do it? But see, uh, people, the thing about it is, is, you know, instead of making plans, instead of saying, I'm gonna do this, I'm gonna do that next year, you know what I want to go into next year, I want to go into next year with I do want to change some things. Uh, you know, this past year, 2025 was a crazy year for a lot of people. You know what I'm saying? Um, but the one of the things that I want to talk about is today, uh I want to talk about going into the next year, getting more into my anointing. I we we're anointed. God has anointed you, he's anointed me, uh, he's equipped us for good works, to resist evil, uh, to preach the word, to pray to fellowship. If you are a Christian and you have given your life to the Lord, you have received anointing. You are anointed. And I think some people forget about that. According to Webster's dictionary, the to anoint means to rub oil or ointment on. And so I'm sure there's probably some of you that has been uh in churches and you've been anointed with oil at prayer services, or maybe someone's prayed over you for healing. You've you've anointed been anointing with oil, right? And so the word anointing and anointed and anointing things and things being anointed, it's all through the Bible. It's all over the Bible. In 1 Samuel, kings was anointed so that they could rule over their kingdoms. Um uh priests were anointed in Exodus to carry out the duties of worship and stuff. Prophets were anointed in in 1 Samuel to proclaim God's word. And Mark and you know, a lot of the New Testament, a lot of the four gospels. The sick was anointed, you know, for healings. And and then even in Leviticus, Moses anointed the tabernacle. So objects was even anointed. Now, personally, I have anointed my house. I've I think I've anointed my car. And believe it or not, I've anointed my dogs, I've I've anointed my windows and doors, you know, I do that every so often, you know. Um, but the thing that I want to talk about is today, people, we're going into a new year, and we need to get more in tune with our anointing. We are anointed, we're chosen and we're marked. You know, our daily assignment is our anointing. God said in Psalm 23, 5, Thou anointest my head with oil. He anointed us. He said in 1 John 2, but the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you. He anointed us when we give our life to Christ and we give our life over to Jesus Christ, he automatically anoints us. We automatically get that anointing. And that anointing is the pre is the presence and the power of God in our lives. We're all anointed. If we've given ourselves to Christ, we are anointed. And so I want to go talk about a young man in 1 Samuel in verses. Well, there's all kinds of verses there. 1 Samuel, God chose David, right? Just like God chose you and like God chose me. It doesn't matter what our background are or what others are saying about us or what others are thinking. It doesn't matter who it didn't matter who David was. God chose David. And he chose all of us too, people. God chose you and he chose me to carry his power, to carry his name. He chose us to make a difference in your family, your job, your school. God's anointing is on you, just like it is on was on David. Now, 1 Samuel 16, and I think around about verse 12, somewhere through there. I'm not going to holler say it word for word, but it said that the Lord says that this is the one. When David walks up, you know, the Lord had had told Samuel to anoint these the one that was that was going to end up being the ruler, right? It was going to be king. And so they brought all these guys, all of David's brothers was brought before. And the Lord was like, no, no, that's not him, that's not him. That I went on and on. And finally they they asked David's father, you know, where is do you have any more any more sons? Well, yeah, there's one more out in the field, my young son David. And so bring him in here. And he came in, and the Lord said, This is the one. This is him. He's going to be anointed. He wasn't called by his father or his brothers, he was called by God. And friends, I'm here to tell somebody today, think about this. It doesn't matter what people think about you, compared to God's calling on your life, it doesn't matter. You are anointed. We are anointed, right? And so 1 Samuel 6 Samuel 16 and 3 says that Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed David in the midst of his brothers. And the Spirit of the Lord came upon David from that day forward. And then what? Then what? So we go on and read through this. We see that we hear about this war that was happening between the Israelites and the Philistines, right? There was a valley between these two armies, and the valley had a name, but I'm not even going to try to say it. The Israelites was on one side, the Philistines was on the other side. The Bible says that the Philistines brought forth a giant, of course we know who that is, a great man of war named Goliath, right? And he intimidated the children of Israel for 40 days, is what the word of God said. And so David was sent down to this camp with cheese and bread to feed his brothers who was fighting in this battle, right? And so when David gets down to this camp, he hears Goliath yelling and defying the armies of Israel. David also starts to talk to his brothers and these men, he saw these men were were just dreadfully afraid. And so David goes to talk to them. And he says, 1 Samuel 17 and 26 says, David says, What shall be done for the men, for the man that kills this Philistine, and take away the reproach from Israel? Right? He said, For who is this uncircumcised Philistine that that he should deny the armies, defy the armies of the living God? Now see, people, this is where we see the anointing come in at. This is where his anointing shows. He gets in tune with his anointing because then uh you know, we what what I want somebody to realize today is you know what, being anointed is not just some small thing. You know, a few days ago in this in this story right here in 1 Samuel 16, 17, and through here, David was just a shepherd boy. But now he's been anointed by Samuel. He's been anointed by God. You know? And people, anointing carries power. It's a big deal. You know what I'm saying? Now don't get me wrong, David went through a little bit of ridicule in in that camp. When he went down to the to the Israel camp, they they gave him a little bit of ridicule ridicule. They they tried to discourage him. Even King Saul says, You are not able to do this. I mean, uh King Saul even tried to put armor on David, and David declined. No, I don't need your armor. Because the Bible says in 1 Samuel 17, young David, the Bible says he took his staff in his hand, he chose five smooth stones from the brook, and put them in a shepherd's bag, and he had a sling in his hands. And we know the story, we know what happened, right? So you may ask, well, why is David so bold? Why why how did David get all this boldness? People, before David was just a little shepherd boy. But when David comes to the battle, he came anointed. Brothers and sisters, he came anointed. He had the anointment of God on his on his soul and his mind, his heart, his body. And so the story goes, of course, David finally comes to to face, uh, to face the giant face to face. And and the thing about it is this giant, he doesn't know the anointing of David. He doesn't know nothing about it, right? So this giant cursed, according to the to the according to the the story, this giant cursed David, and he told him that he's going to give his flesh to the birds of the air and to the breast, to the beast of the field, you know. Uh so friends, you know, today think about this story. Has it has has has the enemy or even fear disguised as the enemy, has it ever tried to knock you down? You know, sometimes God gives us a task and he tells us to do something, uh, but you know, we start moving forward to do it, and then the enemy starts speaking to us, and um the enemy, you know, he starts to get a voice. It gets over in our ear, and he starts this rah-rah-rah-rah, rah. Well, you can't do that, and you're too small, and you can't throw that good. I can imagine what the enemy was talking to David in his ears. You know, I can imagine fear probably starting to set in. But did fear let set in? I don't know. You know, we we tend to we tend to let things start talking in our ears. When we stand up and we go to do something for God, we tend to let fear stop us. But look at this, people, check this out. Look at what David said to Goliath. 1 Samuel 17, 45 and 46, I believe it is. Then David said to the Philistine, You come to me with sword and with a spear and with javelin, but I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel. This day the Lord will give you into my hand, and I will strike you and take your head from you. And this day I will give the carcasses of the camp of the Philistines to the birds of the air and to the wild beasts. Wow, praise the Lord. Look at that anointing that David, young David, had when he walked up to this man. He didn't run, he didn't walk away, he didn't turn. He said, I'm gonna give your carcasses to the animals of the earth, and the earth will know that there is a God in Israel. Praise the Lord, look at the anoint anointing on that young man. And see, we people, we have to walk into the next year, into our anointing. We have to step up to our anointing. See, young David didn't let fear set in. He didn't he didn't let fear uh get to him. The Bible says he walked toward the giant. See, faith doesn't hesitate, faith charges forward, and that's exactly what David did in this story, and that's exactly what we are gonna have to do in this coming year. Of course, you know the rest of the story. You know, he he put the stone in the sling. But people, somebody needs to hear this. When you walk into next year, 2025 was crazy, and we want 2026 to be a little better. Okay, then step in to your anointment and take that anointed up into the new year. Now, friends, you may say, Wow, you know, uh, I'm not like David, I'm not bold, I'm I'm not a king. Friends, I'm telling you. The Bible says that David was anointed. The Bible says he was mightily anointed. See, Samuel poured this anointing oil all over him. He was anointed. The Bible says mightily. But listen to me, people, somebody hear this. We are anointed to. The Lord said that in his word, we have his spirit in us. We are anointed. We are anointed to. You know, Christ has anointed us, he lives in us to empower us, to walk with us every single moment of every single day. We're anointed and we are empowered just like David. You know, before you come to Christ, you were just a sinful person doing your sinful things in this sinful world. But people, when you are born again, you are anointed. You're not just some little lowly Christian walking around without power. No, you're anointed. You're not some little lowly Christian going and sitting down in the middle pew and twiddling your fingers and rubbing your fingernails across the hemul. You are anointed. You are one with the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. And my God, he's so amazing. People, he's almighty. We can't even, we can't even come up with enough adjectives to describe him. And you know what this? He says in his word that he is one with us. What does that make us? Brother, that makes us anointed. That makes us anointed in the same power. The same. We are anointed. And like David, we don't have to bow down to fear. We don't have to bow down to sickness. We don't have to bow down to strife. We don't have to bow down to confusion or hate. We are anointed. And we can look at the enemy straight in the eye and tell them, you will not stop me. You will not stop me because greater is he that is in me than he that is in the world. We tell the enemy this. We are anointed. My friends, I say it again, you're not just a little lowly Christian struggling around. And when you come to face your Goliath, and when your fear is trying to overcome you, remember, you are anointed to overcome it. You are equipped to face the enemy, to face the giant. You have the power to shut up the lies of the enemy. You are anointed. Somebody needs to get this in your head tonight, people. David was just a shepherd boy. He was no more special than me or you. But after he was anointed a king, he went into battle with the giant, with something he didn't have before. That's exactly how we are. We walk in this world, this sinful world, doing all the sins and doing the crazy things. But when we get out on our knees and we give ourselves to the Lord and we get up from the altar or wherever we were praying, you know what? We are anointed. We stand up with something we didn't have before. And that's just like David. He went in with the anointing on his side. And that same power that he had to do, that same power, we have that in front of us. That same power that he had, we have that inside of us, people. We have that inside of us. And friends, today, listen to this. God said in Psalms 89 20, he said, I have found David, my holy servant. He said, And with my holy oil have I anointed him. You see, God found David. And he chose David. And he chose you. He chose you from the moment you take your, you were created into the womb. He chose you. He knew what you were going to do. He knew your what was going to be your anointing. And so we need to make this our personal, we need to make this personal, people. Read this. Go to this Psalms 89 and 20 and read this and put your name there. Because I will, I have found Deb. I have found Deb, my servant, and with my holy oil have I anointed her. And brothers and sisters, that is exactly what he wants people to understand today. That's exactly what he wants people to understand. Write it down, tape it up somewhere so you can see it daily, and so you can read it daily. You know, your refrigerator and your bathroom is the two most rooms I think used in your house. Tape it up somewhere. I where he said, I have found Deb. I have found Deborah. I have found Deb, my servant. And with my holy oil, I have anointed her. People, put your name there because that's exactly what has happened. He has anointed you. And you need to get that into your head. You have been chosen. You are anointed. And my friends, I'm telling you right now, if you want to change things in the coming year and you want to see your family saved, and you want to see Your friends saved, and you want to see people healed, and you want to see people get up and walk and talk, talk the talk, and be anointed, then you need to go into this new year grasping your anointment. He gave it to you. He anointed you when you gave your life to him. Let the anointing of the Holy Spirit fill your life. Listen for his voice. Let the anointment speak the word of the Lord to your heart. And that will strengthen you. The strength of the anointment of the Spirit of God will surely guide you, and you will overcome every obstacle that will try to hinder you. People, listen to me. The devil wants you to quit. The devil wants you to believe that God's not listening to you, that he ain't heard you. But my friends, you need to take this anointment into the following year. Go into 2026 with the anointment and tell the devil you are a liar. Tell the devil you are a liar. My friends, God has anointed you from the very, very start. You're very, very twin in your mom's womb. God anointed you for times such as this right now. For times right now for you to get up out here and go into this new year and get your family saved. Talk to your family, talk to your friends, spread the word of God. Touch anoint the sick and heal them. God will heal them. Anoint the sick. Talk to the lost, talk to the sinners. If you want to see something done, people, get in to your anointing. Touch your anointing. It's there. It's there. He gave it to you. Use it. Don't just sit back in church and twiddle your fingers. Don't just sit back in church and thumb through the pages of your Bible. Get up. Use your anointing that God has given you. Use your anointing. And you'll see things get done this year. You'll see a new year. We don't know what the future holds. We don't know what tomorrow's going to bring. We don't know what next month, next week, or next year is going to bring. But my friends, we don't have to worry about it. If we go into this new year, grasping our anointing. Let our anointing flow. Let it come out. Let people see this anointing. People walk up to you and talk to you. They should see that anointing on you anyway. They should be able to look at you and tell, you are a child of God. I can see it. You need to let the anointing flow, people. I'm telling you. God wants somebody to hear this today. God wants somebody to know today. You have the anointing. You have the same power. You have the same power that Jesus Christ had. And like I said, greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world. Remember that, people. Remember that. Remember that. God gave you the anointing. Now let's step into the new year. Let's make the changes that we need to make, but let's use our anointing. You want to get a new hairdo? Get a new hairdo. You want to change your makeup? Change your makeup. You want to use green, blue, or black or yellow lipstick, use it. But people go into your anointing. Grasp your anointing. Use the anointing that God has given you. You'll see things done. You'll see things done. I hope and pray that this has got to somebody's heart. I hope and pray that somebody has heard and understood what I'm saying here today. I hope and pray that this has blessed you as much as it has blessed me to bring it to you. And I just want to say, happy new year. God bless everybody. And please, people, understand. God gave you that anointing. He gave it to you. It's there. Use it. That is your job. That is your assignment every day, your anointing. Thank you very much for listening. Thank you for listening to Bible Talk. God bless everybody and see you next year. I'm going to close this out with a prayer. Lord our Father, God, in the name of Jesus Christ, I come to you today to ask you, Lord, to bless all of these people, Lord, that's listening to this. Bless each and every one of them, Lord, that is hearing these words right now that's coming out of my mouth. They are your words, Lord. They are your words and people let these let these words go, Lord, to the hearts and the ears that people that need to hear it. Let them understand that that anointing is there. All they got to do is use it. All they got to do is step up into it and let it flow, Lord. Let the anointing oil flow. Let these people realize that and let them understand that. Let these children of God know that all they got to do is step up and use the anointing that you have given them. Bless each and every one of us, Lord, according to your will. We thank you for everything and we ask you to go with us and lead us and guide each and everybody into this new year. We praise you, we honor you, and we love you, Lord. We ask these and all things in Jesus' holy sweet name we pray. Amen and amen.
