We open Matthew 24 and listen to Jesus warn that what looks permanent can fall in a moment, while His return remains certain. We trade end-times speculation for a clear call to watch, repent, and live ready because every eye will see Him.
• Matthew 24 and the disciples’ awe at the temple
• Jesus’ warning of the temple’s destruction and what it means
• the two questions about timing and the sign of His coming
• shifting focus from tribulation talk to the return of Jesus Christ
• a vivid picture of the trumpet and the sky drawing all eyes upward
• why that day brings joy for believers and mourning for unbelief
• what will not matter then: titles, money, appearances, mere attendance
• why grace is available now and why delaying is a gamble

Prayer And Final Warning

SPEAKER_02

Praise the Lord, praise the Lord. I am just so glad to be sitting back here today getting ready to talk about the word. Wow. What better thing could we choose to talk about? So today I want to talk to you about I'm going to be summoning Matthew 24. Just a few things there in Matthew 24 to start out with. So in Matthew 24, Jesus, Jesus and his disciples are coming out of the temple. Right. And and the disciples are, they tell Jesus how impressed they are with the beauty of the temple. Now of course the Bible says it a little differently. But see, Jesus looks at the temple and he sees something else. He he sees its impending destruction. Now, the temple, we all know, is a the massive structure. It's adorned with marble and plates of gold. From what I read about it, it took up probably one-sixth of the city of Jerusalem. You know what I'm saying? Uh heavily adorned with expensive gifts from worshipers and that worshippers have brought. Now the temple was completed in 1663 A.D., which is just three years before its destruction by the Roman soldiers. And it was said the temple was made with plates of gold that were said to actually blind onlookers when they looked at it. And so, but Jesus didn't see that. Jesus saw its impending destruction. And Jesus tells them in in in certain words, I mean he didn't say it totally. Of course I'm paraphrasing here. But Jesus tells them, you know what? It may look impressive now, but he says there's going to come a day when there's not going to be a stone left upon another. It's going to be completely destroyed. And that's what he tells them. And so a little bit later on, these disciples come with Tim privately, and and they ask Jesus two questions. First they ask him, When will the things that Jesus predicted be? Okay. And then that actually that would be in I think in 70 AD, and O Domini, which of course, you know, means I think it's either Greek or maybe Greek or Hebrew one, it means the year of our Lord. An O Domini A.D. And so when the Roman army led by Titus, of course, walked, would take over Jerusalem and they would destroy most of the city, including the temple, seven years after the temple was completed. And the second question that they asked Jesus was, When will be what will be the sign of your coming? And this question that the disciples spent, this question the disciples asked Jesus, he spent pretty much the most of Matthew 24 answering. So in his words, Christ told what would what to look for and what to watch for that the things that day that was going to happen before he comes. And now there's been a lot of teaching and training about the end times with a lot of focus on tribulation, a lot of focus on the Antichrist, the mark of the beast, and the rapture. Now, the one thing is I can assure you, the Bible doesn't tell us to eagerly await the tribulation or eagerly await the Antichrist or to watch for the mark of the beast. No. He tells us to be waiting and looking and hoping for the return of Jesus Christ, for that glorious return of our Savior. And today, friends, that's what I want to talk to you about. Not to stir up any kind of speculation about the end times or anything, but that the Lord may use this time maybe to stir up a little bit of excitement in our hearts. That you know what, Jesus Christ could and probably will come in our lifetime. You know, He can return at any moment, any day, today, tonight, before tomorrow. And so I want to talk to you about that day, the day of our Lord, you know. And friends, it will be a day like no other. And that's what we're gonna talk about today. That day. And so I want to tell you a story. Uh I want to tell you a story, and let's just say an appending story, all right? It's not a true story yet, it's it's a true story, it's in the future that is gonna happen, right? And I want you, if you will, to picture this with me, okay? All the things that I'm saying, I want you to sit back and picture, if you will, what I'm saying. Okay, so once upon a time, anywhere in the world, people are going about their day and their night, whichever it may be. People are sitting and going and doing whatever it is that they're doing every day, right? And let's just say it's a beautiful day outside, the birds are singing, the kids are all out playing, the neighborhood is just bustling with excitement, bustling with uh, you know, things people are doing. It's a bright sunny day. And then all of a sudden, you hear a noise. A faint noise at first, but you can make out what it is. It's a trumpet. And it's getting louder. Now, let me pause to tell you this. Uh, maybe a year or so ago, I think it was back last summer, I was sitting in my house watching TV, and I can't remember what I was watching. But all of a sudden, up and out of the blue, where it came from, I'll never know, I heard a trumpet. I heard it loud and clear with my ears. And I know what I was watching on TV had no trumpet because I was looking like, wow, to the point I heard it so loud and clear that I kind of for one thing, my heart started beating really fast, and I got this really weird feeling in my stomach. I even took my remote and I reached over and I used the remote and I moved the the curtain out of the way so I could look outside and look up. With anticipation. Y'all, I heard a trumpet plain as day. Where it came from, I have no idea. It blasted for a few minutes and then it quit. And that was so that was anticipation. With anticipation, I was watching. I looked outside. I, man, I couldn't wait to look outside. Anyway. So, so you hear this trumpet and it's getting louder, right? So you run over to the window, you look outside, you look out your window, and you see all your neighbors are out outside and they're looking at each other and they're looking up. They're all looking at the sky. And friends, on this day, in this moment, every human being will be staring at the sky. Every human being will be looking up because God has got the attention of everyone on earth. You know, and I'm calling that a day like no other. And on this day, a day like no other, God has finally got everybody's attention. Now the word of God tells us that He will that that He will appear in the sky, that the signs of the Son, Son of Man coming, and that the tribes of the earth are gonna mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. That's in Matthew 24. The clouds will open, people, and we will see the Son of Man. Christ, just like he left, he's gonna be coming on the clouds of heaven. Every eye is gonna see him, every eye on earth is going to look up and they're going to see him. And on this day, a day like no other, friends, everyone will know who Jesus Christ is. Everyone will know, every person, every religion, every walk of life will know that Jesus is the Son of God, and He's came back like He said He was going to. And you know what, my friends? The word again says, the tribes of the earth will mourn. And you know why? Because all of those people who didn't believe, all those who put off praying, all of those who didn't listen to the pastors and didn't listen to the word that people were giving them, and in that moment, when Jesus splits the sky, their face will their fates will be sealed. All of those people that didn't take the warning and take heed, that didn't believe, that didn't pray, all of those people, their fates will be sealed. And all of those who rejected him will know that judgment is here, and there's no way to stop it. They will know judgment is here. And on that powerful day, a day like no other, friends, everything is going to change. That day will separate the real from the fake, the real believers from the fake believers. Those who are really saved, those who are really trying, those who have really given their heart to the Lord, those who are really trying to make heaven their home is going to be separated from those who are playing in church. Come on, y'all know exactly who you are, too. Those that is going to be a separation that day. And you're going to see tears of joy on the Christian's face, and you're going to see the sinners cry. My friends, people are going to be living their ordinary lives, eating, working, planning on tomorrow, and then suddenly everything is going to change. Breakfast tables are going to be set, probably. Maybe it's a good old chance. They're going to be left, you know. Cars are probably going to keep on rolling away. Phones are going to go crazy. Friends, this is not a secret. The Bible tells us that every eye will see him. And no news station is going to be able to announce it. No preacher's going to be able to explain it. The sky itself will preach that sermon. We are going to know. That we are going to know. Everybody's going to see him. Everybody's going to know, wow, he's here. All of those people that didn't believe. All of those people that call themselves believe him, but didn't live the life they were supposed to live. They're going to see it. And it's going to be final. It's going to be final. And friends, you see, grace is still available today. Mercy still abounds today. But on that day, a day like no other day that we are ever going to experience, that opportunity is going to be close. Now see, it's going to be a glorious day for believers. For those people saved in Christ, this is not going to be a scary day. No, this is going to be a victory day. It's going to be a day of redemption. My friends, it's going to be a homecoming day. Amen. Amen. For the children of God, this is not going to be something to fear. Friends, this is something that we are going to have to look for, look and listen for. We're going to have to look forward to it. Because when heaven breaks into earth, and it is going to happen, every promise that we have ever been told is going to be filled. And friends, this is going to be a day like that's coming, unlike any other day that this world has ever seen, that any of us have ever seen. No calendar can mark it, no clock can predict it. Only heaven knows the hour. Not even the angels. And we read first Thessalonians 4. 16 and 17 tells us that the Lord will appear. And we all are going to be changed. Matthew 24 and 27 tells us that as the lightning cometh out of the east and shineth into the west, so shall the coming of the Son of Man. Friends, can you imagine what a glorious day that is going to be? Acts 1 and 11 tells us that Jesus will come the same way that he left. Revelation 1 and 7 says every eye will behold him. My friends, Philippians 2, verses 10 and 11 tells us that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. You see, friends, this old world has seen many historic days. We've seen many of things happen, many history. We've seen presidents come and go, we've seen presidents assassinated, we've seen ships uh uh sink, we've seen uh airplanes crash, we've seen all kinds of different things. We've seen wars happen, we've seen people die, we've seen people come and go. We have there were so many historic things that this world has seen, but this day, there's never been a day or ever will be a day like the day when Jesus Christ splits the skies. You may be standing at your uh stove pouring your morning coffee. You may be driving down the highway, hopefully praising the Lord. You may be getting ready to go to bed. You never know. And then suddenly that trumpet's gonna sound. And the sky itself will let us know that Jesus Christ, the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords, has come. Friends, let that sink in for just a minute. Close your eyes and try to try to picture that because that is going to separate the ready from the unready. Those who are watching, those who are watching, eagerly watching and waiting on his return, it's going to separate those from those people that are distracted by the world and by the sin of the world. And trust me, on this day, friends, titles won't matter. Titles won't matter. It doesn't matter whether you're a king, queen, sir, miss, ma'am, whatever. Titles are not going to matter. Church attendance alone won't matter. Financial standing, it don't matter how much money you got, it don't matter where you're from, what house you live in, what street you live on, your financial standing, none of that is going to matter in the eyes of God. There's only going to be one thing in this world that's going to matter when he splits those eastern skies, and that is, do you know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior? On this day, on that day, the eastern sky will open, and the same Jesus who walked out of that tomb that day will walk on, will come in the clouds of heaven. And when those trumpets sound, people, it's going to be, it will truly be a day like no other, a day like we have never seen before in our lives. And my friends, the question isn't if that day is coming. The question is, are you going to be ready when it does? Because he's already told us in his word he's coming. He's already gave us ample warning. There's not going to be nothing you're going to be able to stand in front of him and say, Well, Lord, I didn't know. I didn't know. Nobody told me. I didn't understand it. You know. Open his word. Listen to his people that he's got out there preaching his word every day. You know. You're just letting the devil and the world and and the enemies in the world, you are letting them influence you. People, I'm telling you. Tomorrow may start like any other ordinary day. The sun may rise, the coffee may brew in. People getting ready for work, getting their kids ready for work. Then all of a sudden, without warning, the sky begins to change, and I don't mean clouds, and I don't mean storms rolling in. I mean it's going to change with something we the world has never seen before. The trumpet's going to sound. The eastern sky is going to split, and Jesus Christ has come back just like he said he would. And my friends, again, it's going to be a day like no other. A day like we've never seen before. And there never will be another. I need you to read. 1 Thessalonians 4 16. That's not poetry. That's a promise. I need you to read that, people, and believe it. Because it's coming. You know. Friends, you can today can you imagine being finally in his presence? Can you imagine that moment? One second we're standing here in this crazy, cruel, root ruined world, and the next second we're standing in his presence. Excuse me. One second we are overcoming, we're carrying bar burdens with us that we've never known before. One second we are so burdened down, and the next, all of our burdens are gone forever. One second we're fighting life's crazy battles. The next, those battles are gone. And my friends, 1 Corinthians 15 and 52 says, In the twinkling of an eye, we shall be changed. The twinkling of an eye. My friends, that's faster than a heartbeat. Faster than a blink. Faster than we could ever imagine. I read somewhere that there was actually books wrote about in the twinkling of an eye. Please listen to me. Friends, if I have to beg, I'll beg. Please listen to me. On this day, there will not be any time to get ready. So the time right now to get ready is now. Amen. The time right now, the Bible doesn't tell us the day, it doesn't tell us the hour, but it does tell us that he's coming. The Bible doesn't lie. And the question is going to be, are you ready? And if you're saying you're ready, are you sure you're ready? And if you don't know, you can be. Because trust me, friends, if your heart is not where it needs to be with the Lord, then you can talk to him right now, wherever you are, wherever you're standing, if you're lit sitting in your living room, in your car, sitting at your table, standing outside, under a tree, whatever he hears you. And if you have any doubt at all about your eternity, then right now is the time to go sit down somewhere and turn all of this over to the Lord and make sure. Don't gamble with your eternity, friends. Don't gamble. Make sure. Because trust me, friends, one day soon that trumpet's gonna sound and that sky is going to split open. And Jesus Christ will call his children home. And my friends, that day is going to be a day like no other. It'll be a day you'll never experience again. Because on that day, there will be no more time to repent. There will be no more time to fall down on your knees and say, Lord, I'm sorry. There's going to be no more time to bring excuses because there's not going to be no time for excuses. There will be no excuses. You will not be able to say, Well, I didn't know. I didn't hear it. Nobody told me. There's not going to be any excuse that you bring up in this world is not going to help you. You have been warned. You have been warned. That day is coming. My friends, don't bet, don't gamble with your eternity. You can turn it all over to Him right now. If you haven't given your life to the Lord, you can do this right now. This second. Go somewhere, sit down, bow your head, and ask the Lord. Ask Jesus Christ to come into your heart and be your personal Savior. Tell him, I know you gave your life on the cross. Tell him, I know and believe you came back after three days. And I know you're coming again. You tell him that, friends. You invite him into your heart. And if you have given your life to the Lord, please make sure you're living as close as you can possibly live. Because, friends, don't gamble with your eternity. Make sure you are ready. Make sure you're ready. Because there's not going to be nothing anybody's going to be able to do to help you. When he splits those eastern skies on that day. And you will run out of opportunity someday. He has talked to us. He sent us word. He's sent he sent people to tell you. He's he sent music. He sent everything. And let you know in every way he could possibly let you know that he is coming back someday. And he's telling you to watch. And be ready. And friends, I hope this has blessed you as much as it's blessed me to bring it to you. I hope and pray that you understand what I'm saying and that you let these words sink in. I hope and pray you open up the word of God and get in the word of God, friends. And read of what read because it's coming. And he tells you every bit of it right there. It's right there in his word. And his word don't lie. And I'm going to close this with a prayer. I'm going to pray, and I hope and pray that you guys listen to this today. And you let this sink in. Let it go to your heart and your mind that you know what? You're not promised tomorrow. We're not promised this evening. We are not promised tonight. Because he's coming. He's coming again. Someday. We may not make it through the night. We may not wake up tomorrow. We may wake up in the morning, open fixing our coffee and look out, and there's the trumpet. My friends, I I want you to understand. You need to let this sink in. Because there is a day coming that's not going to be like any other day you've ever seen, or any day you ever will see. Our Father God in heaven, I thank you, Lord, up above, for these words that you've given us. We thank you for these many warnings that we were able to just walk over and open your word and read and understand what's happening. Lord, we ask you to, I ask you right now, Lord, to let these words, let these things that was said here today, let these go to the hearts and the minds of the people that need to hear it. Let them open up their hearts and their minds and let them see and understand that it's coming. Let them see and understand that, Lord, they shouldn't gamble with their eternity. That when you do come, it's going to be too late. Let them see that. Let them feel it in their hearts. It's going to be too late. Let them hear these words over and over and over in their head. Lord, I ask you to just let these words go to the people that need to hear it. In their heart, in their minds. Let it dwell. Let it burn. Let them hear it. And hear it again. Let them see it in their minds. Let them hear it in their sleep. Whatever it takes to let them understand that one day, that day is going to happen. Lord, we thank you for everything you've given us. Lord, we thank you for letting your son die on the cross so that we could all live. We thank you for bringing it back after three days. We thank you for the resurrection. We thank you and praise you and honor you for everything that you've given us. We thank you, Lord. We ask these in all things. In Jesus' holy sweet name we pray. Amen and amen. God bless everybody.
