What If The Only Bible Left Was In You
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
What would happen to your faith if you woke up tomorrow and the Bible was gone? No app on your phone, no preaching on TV, no church doors open, no way to look up the verse you’ve leaned on for years. We sit with that question and let it do its work, because the discomfort reveals something important: the Word of God can be everywhere around us and still be neglected.
We anchor the message in Amos 8:11-12, where God warns of a coming famine, not of bread or water, but of hearing the words of the Lord. From there, we get honest about what the Bible actually is: not a human book about God, but God’s revelation to us that explains sin, grace, judgment, and the hope found in Jesus Christ. We also talk about Hebrews 4:12 and why Scripture is alive, powerful, and able to reach places nothing else can.
Then we confront the quiet, everyday attack that started in Genesis 3: “Hath God said?” When doubt replaces Scripture, we lose our standard for truth and become easy to deceive. We close with the practical, urgent takeaway: the most dangerous Bible isn’t missing, it’s unopened. Psalm 119:11 points us to the solution, hiding God’s Word in our hearts, so even if the Bible is taken from our hands, it cannot be taken from within us. Subscribe, share this message with someone who needs it, and leave a review with the verse you’re choosing to hide in your heart.
I would like to welcome everyone to the show enjoy and God bless everyone.

Imagine The Bible Suddenly Gone
SPEAKER_01Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. It's so awesome to be back in the studio today to talk about the Word of God. And that is literally what I'm talking about today is the Word of God. So today on Bible Talk, I want to talk to you about something that, first of all, I'm going to ask you to use your imagination today. Tonight, on this message. I'm going to ask you to imagine a few things a couple of different times. So please bear with me. So today on Bible Talk, I'm going to talk to you about something that most of us have within our reach right now. Some of us have several of them. Some of us have some sitting on the nightstand. Some of us have one in the living room. One in our purse, one on our phone. And because we have access to it for so long, sometimes I think we may have forgotten just how precious it is. What I'm talking about here is the Word of God. The Holy Bible. So the first time I want you to imagine something with me today is, so these questions are just questions and they're hypothetical, but you know what? You never know. But I want you to imagine. What if you woke up in the morning and the Bible was gone? What if you reached for the Word of God and it wasn't there? What if you opened your phone and every Bible app had disappeared? If you turned on your TV and there was no more Christian programs? Or what if you went to church and there was no longer anyone allowed to even preach the word of God? My friends, what if you couldn't simply open up a Bible whenever you wanted to? Would you realize then just how much you had taken it for granted?
Amos And The Coming Word Famine
SPEAKER_01Now today's today's today's Bible message I'm in Amos chapter eight verse eleven. And the Bible says, Behold the days come, saith the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor of thirst for water, but of the hearing of the words of the Lord. Amen. So Amos eight and eleven tells us that there's coming a time when there's going to be a famine, not of water, not of bread, a famine of hearing the word of God. Now Amos eight and twelve, the next verse says, And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even unto the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the Lord and shall not find it. People, I need us, we need to ask ourselves what would happen to us if the word of God become unavailable. Think about that. But now first I want us, I want you to we need to understand, before we can understand really the seriousness of that question, uh we have to answer another question.
What The Bible Truly Is
SPEAKER_01What is the Bible? What is this book? Now it's easy for us to say that it's the Word of God, but do we really understand what we're saying? Because the Bible isn't merely a book written by man about God. It's God's revelation of Himself to mankind. It tells us where we come from, why we're here. It tells us what went wrong with humanity, it tells us about sin. It tells us about judgment, grace, it tells us about a savior. And from Genesis to Revelation, it points us toward Jesus Christ. My friends, this book tells us something that the world cannot tell us. Who God is, who we are, and what God has done to bring us back to Him. Think about that. Think about that. The very God that created the universe, the very God that hung the stars in space, chose to communicate with His creation through this book. The God who made the stars, who named each and every one of them, made himself known to us through these words. The God who gave us away. The God who gave us. Amen.
Scripture That Cuts And Heals
SPEAKER_01And God's word is alive. Hebrews 4 and 12 tells us, for the word of God is quick and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword. Now the Bible doesn't describe the word as dead. It says quick, alive, powerful. It penetrates, it reaches places inside of us that nothing else can. Because we can hear a speech and we can forget it. We'll forget it. We can read a newspaper and we end up just throwing it away. We can watch a movie and then next thing you know, just move right on to the next movie. But my friends, when God's word gets down into your spirit, it has the ability to change you. And that's why sometimes when you can read a verse, you've read a hundred times, and suddenly one day, that verse reads differently. You say, wow, I've never seen it like that before. But see, you see, the word doesn't change. You did. You were finally ready to hear what God was saying. You can read a verse and read it for days. And you may not understand it. You may not be getting it. And then maybe you say, Well, Lord, help me to get this more. Help me to understand it. And then the next time you read it, there's your understanding of it. It's like a light in your head goes off. Wow. Because that was the very old time that the Lord meant meant for you to understand it and hear it. Amen. The word of God. Now check this out.
The Oldest Trick Doubting God’s Word
SPEAKER_01There's always been an attack against the Word of God since mankind. If we go back to Genesis chapter 3, okay, if we go to Genesis chapter 3, the enemy's first recorded words to humanity was an attack on what God had said. In Genesis 3 and 1, he asked Eve, he says, Yea, God hath said. You know, Eve is telling the enemy, when he's he's in conversation with Eve, and he's he's he's telling, Eve's telling the enemy, well, you know, uh, God said, if we eat from this tree, we're gonna die. Eat this fruit from this tree. And he says, his words are, yea, hath God said. And did you get what I'm saying? He he wasn't just attacking Eve. He was attacking the word of God. He was saying, wow, really? God said that? And I'm paraphrasing. Really? God said that? Is that what he said? You know, sarcastically, I'm sure. And the thing about it is, friends, he's still doing it today. He's still attacking the word of God today. But see, he does it in little bitty whispers. Because the word of God tells us what we're supposed to do and not supposed to do. And the enemy whispers them little things. Well, did he really say that? Or he'll whisper, you don't have to do that. You don't have to take that so literally. Everybody's doing it. You can live however you want. And that's some of the things that he tries to put in our head about the word of God. But see, the thing about it is, if if Satan can get you to doubt God's word, and eventually you're going to stop knowing God's word. And when you don't know the word of God, that's when you become vulnerable to believing anything and everything that you read and hear. Because, friends, the word of God is our standard. And when I say this, when I say standard, I mean the word of God is the ultimate rule and it's the it's the final test for what people should believe and how we should live. It tells us what's right and wrong. And the one thing about it is the world around us changes. Opinions change, culture changes, people in general around us change. But the word of God never changes. It never changes. Isaiah 40 and 8 says, the grass withereth, the flower fadeth, but the word of God shall stand forever. Forever. Think about that, people. The word of
The Bible As Our Final Standard
SPEAKER_01God shall stand forever because everything else around us is temporary. Everything around us in this old world is temporary. You know, people come and go, uh, communities and governments rise and fall, generations pass away. But God's word remains. And my friends, that is why we need to stop treating the Bible like it's an accessory to Christianity. It's not, it is our roadmap. People, it's our foundation. It is not an accessory to Christianity. It's not something to roll over in your hands and carry down the street every day just to look good, just to make people think you're a Christian or think you're going to church. The Bible is our foundation. And you don't build your life on what something somebody said about God. You build your life on what God said. And that is our foundation. And I'm going to say something that might sound a little bit weird to you. I don't know. But the one I believe in my heart, one of the most dangerous Bibles. It's not one that's missing. Friends, it's one that's never opened. That's a dangerous Bible. Because listen to me. A Bible sitting on a chef cannot change you. A Bible sitting on a nightstand, drawing dust can't correct you. A Bible just sitting in your car, untouched, unopened, can't teach you. Because listen to me. Somebody needs to hear this. You can own ten Bibles, one and as soon as you walk in your house, you can have a Bible sitting in every corner, every hand. I mean, you can just bend over and there's a Bible everywhere you turn. You can have 15 or 20 Bibles in your house and still be starving spiritually. Friends, the word of God is our foundation. And the found the power in that foundation is not just standing and not just owning the word of God. The power is opening it up. The question is how you have to have you allowed the word to get inside of you. That's where your power comes from. Psalms 119 and 11
Owning Bibles While Starving Inside
SPEAKER_01says, The word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against thee. You see, David didn't say the word have I displayed on my shelf. He didn't say the word that I've displayed over there on my nightstand. He didn't say the word that I carry around in my chariot. Nope. Nope. He said, I've hid in my heart. And trust me, people, there's gonna come a day when you don't have that Bible in your hand. And if you've hidden the words in your heart, nobody can take that away from you. Nobody. Nobody. Now if we if we get back talking about Amos 8 and 11, go back to Amos 8 and 11 and think about this. God says, Behold, the day comes. Behold, I I looked up what people said, what they said, the word behold, from what I read said it's saying, listen, behold, it is like a divine explanation mark. Behold, I even wrote it on the edge of my Bible so I could see it. Behold. He said, Behold, the day comes. Notice the words, the day comes. See, God was warning us about something. He was warning them about something that has not happened yet. He said, There's going to be a famine, not of bread, not of water, a famine of hearing the word of God. Listen, can you imagine that? Can you imagine desperately wanting to hear the word of God and not being able to? Can you imagine the Bible, your roadmap that the good Lord up above gave us, not being there? If you can imagine that, my friends, that should make us appreciate what we have right now. And right now, right now we can open the Bible. Right now we can read scripture. Right now, the word is available to us. Right now we can sit down and mark through it and mark and and highlight and everything else, our favorite verses, and read them over and over and over. We can carry it with us ever we go. But the point of it is, right now the word is available to us. But are we using it? My friends, please, please, I implore you, do not wait until you lose it. Because sometimes we don't appreciate something until it's gone. Sometimes we don't appreciate, like we don't appreciate good health until we get sick. We don't appreciate some people that's in our lives until they're gone. We don't appreciate our freedom until it's threatened. And I'm telling you what, sometimes we don't appreciate the word of God because we've never had it taken away from us before. You couldn't. What if tomorrow you couldn't go to your nightstand and pick up your word of God because it's gone.
Hide The Word In Your Heart
SPEAKER_01And friends, that day's coming. I do believe the day's coming that they are going to take our word of God. I believe we're gonna have to bring them everyone to the street, and I believe we're gonna have to pile them in the street, and they are gonna do away with the word of God. That's coming. And if you did wake up tomorrow, and when that day comes, or you wake up tomorrow and the word of God is gone, are you gonna wish you'd have read more? Are you gonna wish that you'd have memorized more? Are you gonna wish that you would have spent more time in the Word? My friends, listen to me. Don't wait until the word's taken from your hands to figure out and discover how desperately you need it in your heart. I'm gonna ask you today, what are you doing with your Bible? Is it open? Is it being read? Is it being studied? Are you obeying it? Is it being hidden on the tables of your heart? Because there is a difference between knowing Bible verses. There's a difference in knowing Bible verses and knowing the God who gave us those verses. You see, friends, we don't read the Bible simply to say that we've read these chapters today. We read the word of God because we want to know him. We want to hear his voice. We want to know how to live. He tells us how to live. We we read the word of God because we want to recognize when the enemy brings us alive. We want to be able to see when people are trying to deceive us, and the Bible tells us that's gonna happen. But friends, most of all, listen at this. Jesus Christ demonstrated the one thing in the wilderness that we need to open our eyes up and see. The word of God becomes your weapon. When Satan tempted Jesus, uh, he answered with scripture. Again and again, it is written. It is written. See, there's power in knowing what God said. And when temptation tells you to give up, it is written. And when the enemy tells you that your past is greater than God's grace, it is written. He used that and he wants us to use it. When the world tells you that there's no hope, it is written. When the world around you and everything around you is shaking, and by the way, that's coming up in another another message. When the world around you is shaking, it is written. And that's why you had to, you must have that word down deep in your heart. Brothers and sisters, I'm gonna ask you to imagine something with me later tonight or or sometime when you are just sitting around. Imagine that tomorrow the Bible is no longer here. Imagine that this this is the last night. Imagine this is the very last night that you're ever going to have access to the written word. What would you do? Would you open it and read it all day? Would you start reading it like you've never read it before? Would you read it differently? Would you realize, would you realize while you're doing this, would you realize that the book that you have sometimes ignored, laying beside us all day, that you've actually, that it is the greatest treasure that God has ever placed in your reach? Would you realize that the answers that you've been searching for are sitting right there between the pages? We just never stooped over, picked it up, opened it, and read it. Would
A Lamp For Daily Direction
SPEAKER_01you realize that the voice you have been begging God to let you hear has been speaking all along in those words? My friends, don't wait for a famine to develop a hunger. We need to get hungry for God's word now. Now imagine yourself standing in a room tomorrow, and your Bible's gone, your phone's gone. Listen at this. If you've got these words in your heart, imagine standing in a room tomorrow, your phone is gone, the Bible's gone, the church doors are closed, there's no Bible study, no Christian radio, there's no way to search for a verse that you've been looking for, and then you realize you you just you can't see that you can't get to the word. But then you start thinking, well, you close your eyes and you start to remember. You start to remember that what God said, you remember his promises to you, you remember that he would never leave you or forsake you. You remember that he is your refuge and your shepherd, you remember that his grace is sufficient, you remember it is written, and then it hits you all of a sudden. You realize you realize something. You realize that they can take the Bible out of your hand, but they can't take those words out of your heart. And that's why I'm telling you right now, people read it while you can, study it while you can. You can hear it while you can. Memorize it while you can. My friends, listen to me. Live it while you can and hide it in your heart. Hide it in your heart. Because Amos warned us that a day could come when there would be a famine of hearing the word of God. Let it live inside you. Because one day you may not have that Bible in your hand. And when you have hidden God's word in your heart, it will still be there. And when everything else is silent, God's word will still speak to you. My friends, God gave us the Bible as a clear roadmap for why, for, for life and why. Because he knew the world is going to be so full of confusing turns and dead ends. And we lack the natural vision. We cannot see what waits around the next corner. But God knows. He knows the way. And he made that map. And he knows every single mile ahead of us. And the word gives us our daily direction. Psalms 119 and 103 say, His word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. He warns us of danger. Scripture points to our spiritual traps before we fall into them. It corrects our steps. When we take a wrong turn, God's truth brings us back on course. And you need to open it daily. Read the scripture each morning to get your direction, to start your direction, to start your day. Obey the signs that he's telling you. Follow the commands that he's given you. And trust the God. Let the Holy Spirit help you understand the difficult passages if you're having problems with them. Friends, uh Second Timothy three, sixteen and seventeen says, All scriptures God breathed, and it is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness. So that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good word. God's word is meant to impact our daily lives, people, and enable us to live the life that God has proposed for us. We're made free by the word of God. We just have to apply it to our lives. Amen. And I'm gonna close with this.
Read It Now Closing Prayer
SPEAKER_01So tonight, before you close this message out, before you go to sleep, before you lay down, open up your word. Read it. Listen to it. Treasure it. Because you don't know what tomorrow holds. You have the word of God today. It's right there in front of you today, right now. Open it up. Today is the day to put the word of God in your heart. And friends, like I said, they may take the word out of your hand, but they can't take the word of God out of your heart. You just have to apply it. Thank you very much for listening. I hope this has blessed you as much as it's blessed me to bring it to you. I hope you understand. I know I ask you to imagine a few things, but my friends, imagine this world without the word of God. God bless everybody. I'm going to end with a prayer. Our Father God in heaven, I thank you, Lord, for these words that you have put down here for me to get out there to people. This is your words telling people about your word, about how it is a light, it's a lamp, it is our roadmap, it's our foundation, the solid rock foundation that we stand on. And I ask you to open up these people that's listening to this, open up their hearts and their minds to this word and let them understand the precious, precious word that they've got in their hands before it's too late. Before they come to take them, before we have to give them up. Lord, please let these people understand to open up the word of God and read it. We ask these in all things in Jesus' name.
